Frontier Hotel 1942-2007

"This is the end result of all the bright lights... and the comp trips, of all the champagne... and free hotel suites,
and all the broads and all the booze. It's all been arranged just for us to get your money.
That's the truth about Las Vegas. We're the only winners. The players don't stand a chance. "

Guess the Las Vegas Casino #7

This a Strip hotel, not Circus Circus or IP.  Good luck...

This disgusting mess was not cleaned the entire time I was in the casino -- almost 3 hours.

Inventory: 4 cigs, 2 cigars, broken glass...

How far the mighty have fallen...

  1. Treasure Island

  2. Some very good guesses, but all wrong. Here's a hint: It's between the TI and the Bellagio on the same side of the street.

  3. My guess is the Mirage, Jimmy. That place is a cesspool now.

  4. Mirage is correct!

How the mighty have fallen... To think an ashtray can look like that for 3 hours -- in one of the busiest areas of the casino. Steve Wynn would be horrified to see what has become of this once proud resort.

    Cesspool is right!

Thanks MGM for running the joint into the ground...

  5. if you were a visitor to vegas, what hotel would you stay at?

  6. if you were a visitor to vegas, what hotel would you stay at?

  7. On-Strip: Aria (if I could get a good deal)

Off Strip: M or Red Rock.

  8. Aria??
Why pay for upscale pretensions if all you are going to get is mid-scale service with many of the restaurants closing?
    Not to mention Legionaire's Disease.

  9. Yeah, FS, maybe you are right about Aria -- was not aware of that LD until yesterday.

OK, if I were to pay for a room on the Strip it would have be a nice place with good value. Maybe Planet Hollywood? Have stayed there -- room was very nice, clean and very cheap! Hotel and mall are pretty fun also. Decent pool set up. Very nice tit pit also -- one of the best in my opinion.

What's your call on this one? JH

  10. I know this was merely a "guess the casino" posting but perhaps it is once again a good depiction of the real problem with "the recession". Do you really think the casino had to let go all their janitorial staff? Or do you think that simply no one in management cares. The executive offices are clean, but the casino floor is not. Please re-run this photo when the salary and annual bonus information hits the newswires.

  11. Actually with all the air conditioners, spa tubs, pools, display fountains, etc. its surprising that Legionaire's is not more common. LD and Bedbugs probably have a greater impact on the emotions of potential guests than on their actual health.

    PH, Monte Carlo, sure.
Sweat Point and Tuscany for those who don't mind being in the hinterlands. Even the very variable Cosmopolitan can be pleasant for some despite their chaotic performance and pricing levels. I like Tit Pits if I'm with a group but I'd not make any decisions about where to stay based on the availability of Tit Pits. Pools? If I dove into a pool you would see real headlines about Tsunamis. Pool parties? I pity the sweet young thing who was attracted to me rather than my wallet. So I don't choose a hotel based on pool parties or drunken broads.

  12. I enjoyed Mandalay Bay for the rooms, but the location and area are lacking.

  13. I say Mandalay Bay. Nice rooms and very clean. Drawback is that it is on the literal end of the Strip.

You should make a poll and see what the vote goes too.

  14. I got a room at PH for $60 two weeks back. You got the mall, a nice sports book, and the sweetest tit pit of all. Unless FS says otherwise, PH is the place...

  15. Cosmo might be a nice choice at the right price? You have a condo suite, balcony, with a refer and a micro in the low end rooms?

Got backed off there very fast with the the AP crew a few weeks back -- they don't take black action well. Maybe I will post about this incident..

Personally (don't take offense) I think the Cosmo is marketing itself to be a "gay friendly" hotel. From what I saw in there, they want the "alternative lifestyle" crowd in the joint.

I heard the Cosmo is losing it's ass.. (hmmm) Can't compete with the evil empires (Caesars and MGM).

  16. Planet Hollywood is a solid choice for the Strip, but the Tropicana is doing pretty good, too.

  17. Jimmy,

Please post about your Cosmo incident.
