"This is the end result of all the bright lights... and the comp trips, of all the champagne... and free hotel suites,
and all the broads and all the booze. It's all been arranged just for us to get your money.
That's the truth about Las Vegas. We're the only winners. The players don't stand a chance. "

Las Vegas Abandoned Construction Site #5

Here we go again.  This is the "Copper Pointe Business Park" about a mile or so south of "Manhattan West."  It appears to be an office building complex.  I have no idea what the term "office/medical condo" means...

What is interesting about this development is that it is on a one-way street adjacent to the 215 north.  Why would a commercial development such as this be built on a one-way street makes no sense to me.  If you drive past it you have to drive at least a mile to get back over to it.

Anyway, it's just slowly deteriorating until someone decides to come in and finish the complex.  Maybe the place just needs to be demolished?

  1. It's unbelivable to see all those abandoned construction sites! Thanks for sharing!

PS: I think this one is #5, not #4 ;)

    Have a nice Week-End!

  3. Office Condos often are unwise anyway. Rather than a long term lease on office space, some businesses purchase a unit in an condominium. They do get equity and hope it will increase in value but later expansion of the business can be difficult.
Given the collapse of the market its unlikely anyone would have paid to complete the construction of virtually unsaleable units in a condominium.
Eyesore? A rotting corpse will eventually attract vultures. Wait for a Vulture Fund to show up. Its a smorgasboard for Vultures right now.

  4. I say we (you?) call the number on that sign and ask what in the hell they are going to do next!

I'm heading out to your city Oct 2-6. Any suggestions on what to see/do outside of the casinos? Looking to break things up a bit.

jbreittling@gmail.com if you have any suggestions. I'm renting a car, so I'm able to get around your fine city.
