Frontier Hotel 1942-2007

"This is the end result of all the bright lights... and the comp trips, of all the champagne... and free hotel suites,
and all the broads and all the booze. It's all been arranged just for us to get your money.
That's the truth about Las Vegas. We're the only winners. The players don't stand a chance. "

Cheap Imported Draft Beer on the LV Strip

There is a bar inside of the Flamingo Hotel called the Poker Bar.  The Poker Bar is literally steps right off the LV Strip.  It is right next to the poker room.  At the Poker Bar they have $1.00 draft beers -- imported drafts like Fosters or Newcastle Brown Ale and a couple of other imports.  The beers however are served in plastic cups.  One bartender told me the cups are 8oz and another told me the cups were 10oz.  The cups appeared to me to be 10oz.

If you sit at the Poker Bar you can order as many beers as you like.  I ordered 5 Fosters at one time.  That came to $5.00 plus I toked $2.00.  Total $7.00.  So do the math:  that's 40oz. or 50oz. of cold imported draft beer for $5.00 plus toke.  For the LV Strip this is a very good deal.  Try ordering an imported draft beer at Caesar's or Paris and see what happens to your wallet.  A few things to note:

The Poker Bar can get very busy with customers and waitress orders, so sometimes getting bartender service can be difficult.  On several occasions I have seen only one bartender working and he was completely swamped trying to keep up with everything.  It was pointless to even try and place a drink order.

Also, remember that the Flamingo Hotel is controlled and operated by the hairy hidden hand of Harrah's.  Just steps away from the Poker Bar are the usual rip off table games like 6/5 blackjack and some of the tightest machines on the planet.  Don't be a fool and a sucker and throw your money away at this place.
